Q. What is the Welsh Sports Association (WSA)?

A. The WSA is the membership body for sport and active recreation in Wales, charged with the task of providing advocacy and a gateway to business development services for the sector.

Q. How can I become a member of the WSA?

A. Membership is open to all organisations in Wales operating within the field of sports and active recreation.

Q. Does the WSA offer funding to sports organisations?

The WSA currently manages a small Sports Safety Grants scheme on behalf of Sport Wales. We recognise the importance of trying to ensure the safety of those who take part in outdoor pursuits in Wales, and each year recognised Welsh outdoor pursuits Governing Bodies/Groups that provide safety cover for those using the natural environment of Wales are invited to apply for grant aid.

The main purpose of the Sports Safety grants are to support organisations, teams and clubs in the provision and development of services to provide safety cover for the general public using the natural environment of Wales. For further information and an application form please email the WSA Office.

The maximum limit for each application is set as £1,500.
