A. The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) is the membership body for the sport and leisure industry in Wales, charged with the task of providing leadership, advocacy and a gateway to business & governance services for the sector.
Q. What are the benefits of becoming a member?
- A. The WSA offers a wealth of Advocacy support services: we voice our members’ opinions and concerns to Ministers, policy officials and other decision makers. The WSA also provide a range of business services and benefits to improve organisational resilience. The full list of member benefits can be found in the membership section of the website.
- In recognition of their founder member status, Welsh Governing Bodies of Sport are permitted to share their member benefits, with their own non-for-profit member clubs.
Q. How can I become a member of the WSA?
A. Membership is open to all organisations in Wales operating within the field of sports and leisure.

Q. How can I access the WSA Advocacy support and Policy Group?
A. There is a range of Advocacy support available on the WSA website, to include information on the Policies that are affecting Welsh Sport, the various Campaigns the WSA are involved in, as well as sector Consultation responses. As members of the WSA, you also have the opportunity to join the Strategic Policy Group and receive a monthly Political briefing.
Q. How do I find details of WSA training and courses?
WSA offers a comprehensive range of training services designed specifically for the Sport and Leisure sector. Member discounts are available on all courses. Click here for our events calendar and to book a place on our upcoming courses.
Q. What is the Event Submission Form?
A. All Members of the WSA have the ability to add National Events via the Event Submission form. You will only have access to the Event Submission form through your WSA member log-in and if you have the correct privileges. You can submit an Event, or multiple National events via the WSA website. Once approved, this will be live on the Homepage and in the ‘Sports Events in Wales’ navigation for all to access!

A. The WSA’s weekly e-newsletter provides governing bodies and organisations with the latest information on policies, legislation, news and vacancies within sport and leisure.

Q. What is the Legal Helpline Service?
A. The WSA has partnered with Lossmores Solicitors to provide a range of Legal support. The legal helpline service is available to all WSA Members. Full Members, and those that are Welsh Governing Bodies of Sport, are allowed to share their member benefits, with their own non-for-profit member clubs. The Helpline service is available FREE for one hour, per matter.
Q. How do I access the bi-lingual DBS service?
A. The WSA is the only provider of a fully bilingual system and service in Wales. The WSA, via its trading arm Vibrant Nation, provide this DBS Checking service as part of a commitment to ensure that sport and physical activity is safe for everyone to enjoy.
