Communications Director – Mountain Training Cymru

Mountain Training Cymru is the trading name for Mountain Training Cymru Board Limited. Along with the other national Mountain Training boards of the UK and Ireland, Mountain Training Cymru has been collectively developing qualifications and training leaders in walking, rock climbing and mountaineering on a national basis since 1964. They are looking to recruit a new Communications Director to join them on their Board.

MISSION

Our mission is to achieve excellence in skills training and leadership awards in walking, rock climbing and mountaineering across Wales on a huge scale by having a range of qualifications for coaches and leaders which will help over 100,000 people each year participate in these activities.

VISION

Our vision is to take walking, rock climbing and mountaineering activities to an all-time high, and achieve an active, healthy and inclusive Wales where the influence of our coaches and leaders will provide a common platform for participation, education and achievement.

ASPIRATIONS FOR 2016 – 2021

1. We aspire to be innovative and inclusive in the development of our schemes to retain candidates in life-long participation and to break down barriers to participation.

2. We aspire to have a thriving network of course providers across Wales who will deliver world-class excellence in the provision of skills training and leadership qualifications in walking, rock climbing and mountaineering.

COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR ROLE

The Communications Director is a key voluntary post within Mountain Training Cymru. As a member of the Executive Board, this Director shares responsibility with the other Directors for overseeing and developing the management of the organisation, implementing the strategic objectives on behalf of it’s members and liaising with the other national mountain training organisations and the British Mountaineering Council.
