Get Ready for the First Ever National Safeguarding Adults Week

The National Safeguarding Adults Network are launching the first ever National Safeguarding Adults Week from the 19th – 25th November 2018. Safeguarding adults is a responsibility for every sport and physical activity organisation and getting it right is crucial to widening participation and ensuring safe sport for everyone involved.

Led by the Ann Craft Trust (ACT), the leading UK Authority on Safeguarding Disabled Children and Adults at Risk, the week will focus on a different safeguarding adults theme for each day.

These themes are:

  • disability hate crime
  • forced marriage, the prevent agenda and domestic abuse
  • financial abuse
  • online safety and cyber bullying
  • safeguarding adults in sport and activity.
