Job Title Operations Coordinator
Hours per week 35 hrs per week  
Suggested Shift Pattern 7 hours – 5 days per week

2 Year Fixed Contract

Salary  £20K per annum
Location Office location – Badminton Wales HQ, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff
Reports to Head of Operations


1. Job Purpose


The Operations Coordinator will play a critical part in maintaining Badminton Wales’ operations and allow the organisation to deliver the highest quality service to its members and key stakeholders.


2. Responsibilities:


Membership System

  • Maintaining and overseeing the membership database ensuring data and documentation is up to date and compliant
  • Lead campaigns to increase membership subscriptions
  • Oversee the development of membership packages that drive increased value for members


PR & Marketing

  • Responsible for keeping members and key stakeholders updated with Badminton Wales news and events
  • Manage all inbound communication via email, post, phone, social media and website and work with colleagues to ensure prompt responses
  • Responsible for the maintenance of BW website, blogs and social media platforms, ensuring that the content is up to date and relevant
  • Implement a marketing and communications plan and manage the marketing budget
  • Responsible for the production and distribution of the quarterly newsletter
  • Lead on innovative projects that will improve the awareness of Badminton Wales, its programmes, players, and company achievements



  • Research and review opportunities to increase revenue through engagement with sponsors and partners
  • Manage all complaints in alignment with company policy

The Welsh Badminton Union trading as Badminton Wales

  • Undertake all administration tasks in relation to Safeguarding, Equality, and Governance as directed by the Head of Operations
  • Undertake administrative duties in relation to Badminton Wales squad and team travel and competition
  • Operations support as requested by the Head of Operations




  • Good communication skills and able to positively engage with members and key stake holders
  • Attention to detail
  • Highly organised individual who is capable of working well under pressure
  • A willingness to learn and undertake new and different responsibilities
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft IT packages and comfortable learning new computer systems

  • The appointment is made by Badminton Wales and the individual is subject to the policies and practices of Badminton Wales
