SUMMARY:Non-Executive Director & Senior Leadership Training
DESCRIPTION:\nThe WSA, with the support of Vibrant Nation and the GLFW programme have launched a series of training for Non-Executive Directors and Senior Leaders, commencing in September 2021.\n\n\n\nLeading Sport – Understanding the Landscape and How Sports Bodies are Governed \n\n\n\nAs part of the WSA Leadership Academy programme, this webinar aims to build potential directors’ understanding of the sporting landscape and the way in which sports boards lead and govern. The online session will include insights into the key players who lead, invest and support sport. \n\n\n\nThe target groups for this session are potential and recently-appointed directors who are new to sport but have experience of board and executive leadership from other sectors. Content will be aligned to the Governance and Leadership Framework for Wales.\n\n\n\nOutcomes\n\n\n\nThe primary outcomes from the webinar are to:\n\n\n\n•       Build an understanding of the key stakeholders in the sport sector\n\n\n\n•       Explore board composition in sports organisations\n\n\n\n•       Consider the role of members and volunteers in sports governance and decision-making\n\n\n\nThis session will be delivered in an interactive style, enabling participants to share their experiences. To maximise the time available, participants will also be asked to undertake preparation on relevant topics in advance of the webinar. \n\n\n\nThe cost of attending the course will be £40.00 for WSA members and £80.00 for non WSA members.  It is possible for discretionary funding to be provided to cover the cost of this course for beneficiaries of the GLFW programme, if affordability is an issue.
