SUMMARY:Sport and the sporting past – Sporting Heritage webinar
DESCRIPTION:\nThe sporting past inspires the generations of the future. And yet, in the UK, sporting collections, memorabilia, and stories are so often at risk. Why is this and what can be done to change it?\n\n\n\nWe’ll be joined by The Sport and Recreation Alliance, The Welsh Sport Association, and Paddle UK to discuss why the sporting past is so important to sport today. We’ll explore the key issues affecting the preservation, collection, and display of the sporting past. We’ll also discuss opportunities and examples of how sport can be better reflected in the public record and what to do if you want to develop your own sporting heritage activity.\n\n\n\nThis event is for:\n\n\n\n\nAnyone who works or volunteers in a sport club or governing body\n\n\n\nCommunity groups with an affiliation to sport\n\n\n\nIndividuals who hold sporting objects or collections\n\n\n\nThose interested in learning more about the current position of sport in relationship to its heritage\n\n\n\n\nThis is a National Sporting Heritage Day 2024 inspired event, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.\n\n\n\nFind full details and register to attend for FREE via Eventbrite here!\n\n\n\n\n
