{"id":30459,"date":"2025-01-07T14:10:34","date_gmt":"2025-01-07T14:10:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/?post_type=mec-events&#038;p=30459"},"modified":"2025-01-07T14:10:36","modified_gmt":"2025-01-07T14:10:36","slug":"jd-welsh-cup-and-bute-energy-cup-final","status":"publish","type":"mec-events","link":"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/cy\/events\/jd-welsh-cup-and-bute-energy-cup-final\/","title":{"rendered":"JD Welsh Cup and Bute Energy Cup Final"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Football Association of Wales (FAW) is pleased to confirm that Rodney Parade will host the 2025 JD Welsh Cup Final and Bute Energy Welsh Cup Final.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It will be the second consecutive year that Wales\u2019 two most prestigious cup competitions will culminate in Newport, after Connah\u2019s Quay Nomads and Cardiff City lifted the respective trophies there last season.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last season\u2019s Bute Energy Welsh Cup final between Cardiff City and Wrexham at Rodney Parade attracted a crowd of 1,734 \u2013 a record attendance for the competition.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This season, the Bute Energy Welsh Cup final will take place on Sunday 27 April, before the JD Welsh Cup final on Sunday 4 May. Kick-off times, ticket details and television information will be confirmed at a later date.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The journey to Rodney Parade begins this weekend in the first qualifying round of the JD Welsh Cup, while the Bute Energy Welsh Cup qualifying round takes place in September.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jack Sharp, FAW Head of Domestic Leagues, said: \u201cAfter reviewing all the possible and available options to take our cup finals to a premier venue in Cymru, we are delighted to be taking the JD Welsh Cup and Bute Energy Cup finals back to Rodney Parade.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLast season\u2019s finals were both very special occasions. Now, with a full season to build marketing campaigns and engagement models, I am excited to see how this translates into two more fantastic cup finals with fan experience at the heart of our delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt was important to the FAW that clubs and supporters could see where the two competitions would conclude before they begin, providing
