{"id":31362,"date":"2025-08-29T10:15:03","date_gmt":"2025-08-29T09:15:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/?post_type=mec-events&#038;p=31362"},"modified":"2025-08-29T10:15:40","modified_gmt":"2025-08-29T09:15:40","slug":"wsa-safeguarding-community","status":"publish","type":"mec-events","link":"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/cy\/events\/wsa-safeguarding-community\/","title":{"rendered":"WSA Safeguarding Community"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>WSA Safeguarding Community will take place on the 18th Sep at the National Centre, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff CF11 9SW from 09.30am \u2013 14.00.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The WSA Safeguarding Community event will take place on the 18th Sep at the National Centre, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff CF11 9SW from 09.45am \u2013 14.00 for a 10.00 start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>10.00 \u2013 10.45<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We will be joined by representatives from Cwm Taf Morgannwg &amp; Cardiff and Vale Safeguarding Boards to provide a greater insight into the role of the Boards and to discuss how sport can access support and greater engagement with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>10.45 \u2013 12.00<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A facilitated discussion in respect of the ongoing Safe Sport UK work, and the following open Welsh Government consultations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.wales\/consultation-national-strategy-preventing-and-responding-child-sexual-abuse-2025-2035-html#:~:text=The%20Welsh%20Government%20is%20publishing,which%20was%20completed%20in%202022.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Consultation on the national strategy for preventing and responding to child sexual abuse 2025 to 2035<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.wales\/exceptions-childcare-registration-and-proposal-voluntary-approval-scheme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Consultation on the Draft Child Minding and Day Care Exceptions (Wales) Order 2026 and the proposal for Voluntary Approval Scheme for Childcare, Playwork and Activity Providers<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>12.00 \u2013 13.00<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WSA Legal Partner Hugh James will discuss the impact of existing policies in relation to access to changing rooms and other shared spaces in light of the Supreme Court\u2019s decision on the definition of sex within the Equality Act 2010.
