{"id":24104,"date":"2021-08-02T15:18:15","date_gmt":"2021-08-02T14:18:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/?page_id=24104"},"modified":"2023-07-07T11:00:31","modified_gmt":"2023-07-07T10:00:31","slug":"non-executive-director-senior-leadership-training","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/cy\/our-services\/business-support-services\/skills-development\/non-executive-director-senior-leadership-training\/","title":{"rendered":"Non-Executive Director &#038; Senior Leadership Training"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Non-Executive Director &amp; Senior Leadership Training<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The WSA, in support of the GLFW programme, has launched a series of training for Non-Executive Directors and Senior Leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This training is designed for NEDs in a sport &amp; leisure organisation, and useful for those that have been an NED in a different sector. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The training series is broken down into three main elements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\" class=\"ek-underline\">Introduction to Sports Governance in Wales<\/span><\/strong> &#8211; \u00a320 for WSA members, \u00a325 for non members.<br>This is a self service online training course (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsa.training\/courses\/introduction-to-sports-governance-in-wales\/\" class=\"ek-link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\" class=\"ek-underline\">accessed via the WSA online training portal<\/span><\/a>) developed by industry expert Amanda Bennett. It is designed to broaden an individuals\u2019 basic understanding of sports governance principles and practice in Wales.  It is a course that should be completed as a pre cursur to the NED training sessions listed below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u00a0<br><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\" class=\"ek-underline\">NED 1 Leading Sport \u2013 The Landscape and how Sports Bodies are Governed<\/span><\/strong> &#8211; \u00a340.00 for WSA members and \u00a380.00 for non members.  In this 1.5hrs course, conducted over Zoom, the topics covered will include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; Build an understanding of the key stakeholders in the sport sector<br>&#8211; Explore board composition in sports organisations<br>&#8211; Consider the role of members and volunteers in sports governance and decision-making<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The course will be delievered by Amanda Bennett. Amanda is Managing Director of FairPlay Ltd and has worked extensively with UK and international sports bodies in the areas of governance, leadership and inclusion. Amanda is author of the Sports Governance Handbook and contributed to the development of the Governance and Leadership Framework for Wales, and the Sports Governance Code.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\" class=\"ek-underline\">NED 2 Leading Sport &#8211; Board Composition and Inclusive leadership<\/span><\/strong> &#8211; \u00a340.00 for WSA members and \u00a380.00 for non members. Amanda is Managing Director of FairPlay Ltd and has worked extensively with UK and international sports bodies in the areas of governance, leadership and inclusion.
