{"id":24929,"date":"2022-01-27T10:16:14","date_gmt":"2022-01-27T10:16:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/?p=24929"},"modified":"2022-01-27T10:16:16","modified_gmt":"2022-01-27T10:16:16","slug":"cricket-wales-wsa-membership-testimonial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/cy\/cricket-wales-wsa-membership-testimonial\/","title":{"rendered":"Cricket Wales WSA Membership Testimonial"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cricket Wales WSA Membership Testimonial<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Leshia Hawkins has been CEO at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cricketwales.org.uk\/\" class=\"ek-link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\" class=\"ek-underline\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Cricket Wales<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0since February 2020, and cited the Welsh Sports Association as an important factor in maintaining clarity throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking to the WSA, Leshia remarked:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>I arrived at Cricket Wales just three weeks before the COVID-19 Pandemic really struck, so I got to know the WSA very well, very quickly!\u00a0<\/p><p>I think, like the whole industry and\u00a0all of\u00a0my colleagues at my level, we have heavily relied on the WSA\u00a0over the past couple of years \u2013 the leading role that WSA personnel have played in sport\u2019s response to the Pandemic and its safe return has\u00a0easily\u00a0been worth\u00a0our membership\u00a0fee.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>They did a brilliant job of galvanising and supporting, as well as encouraging collaboration and a collective voice for the sector.&nbsp;Considering some of the challenges we heard&nbsp;our peers in England&nbsp;face in negotiating sport\u2019s safe return&nbsp;with government, our situation in Wales has&nbsp;consistently&nbsp;been very organised; we\u2019ve had one voice, we\u2019ve always received&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;and been able to disseminate \u2013&nbsp;new information at the same time, and we\u2019ve had the ear of important people during the decision-making processes;&nbsp;the&nbsp;WSA&nbsp;does&nbsp;a great job on that front&nbsp;line, and&nbsp;have been quick to interpret what\u2019s going on in Welsh Government.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Leshia continued to praise the member-focused work that the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/cy\/\" class=\"ek-link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\" class=\"ek-underline\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">WSA<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/a>carry out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>The WSA has always been on the other end of the phone and have always been extremely responsive. For example, I recently put in an SOS\u00a0around trying to build an intranet as well as requesting help with HR issues. Once again, they were quick to respond and were\u00a0really proactive,\u00a0coming up with ideas of professionals that could help us.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>I can\u2019t really ask for more, either in terms of what has been provided or indeed how\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0been provided. The WSA has always been very understanding of our\u00a0position\u00a0while\u00a0offering an extremely courteous, customer-led and service-orientated service; if I have a problem, it feels like\u00a0it becomes their problem, too.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>No matter the issue, my experience has always been so personalised and responsive. To have that level of support\u00a0makes\u00a0me very grateful.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With what have been unprecedented times in recent years, the WSA can be a vital support to sporting organisations, as Leshia states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>You never quite know what life\u2019s going to throw your way but, in my experience, the WSA has always found a solution for us \u2013 across a whole spectrum of challenges or emergencies.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>The WSA has operated on behalf of not just us,\u00a0Criced\u00a0Cymru\/Cricket Wales, but also on behalf of the whole industry and brought the sector together over what has been a tough two
