Who are the WSA?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) is the independent umbrella body representing and supporting the sport and leisure sector in Wales. That representation and support for our membership base stems from the plethora of services and member benefits we provide, relating to anything from advocacy to business continuity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re a UK organisation that runs sporting events, fitness sessions, leisure classes or club matches in Wales, the WSA would be happy to support you with the whole host of resources we offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does the WSA do?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As representatives for the sport & leisure sector, the WSA work collaboratively with organisations throughout the UK and Wales \u2013 including key strategic partners like Sport Wales, Welsh Government, the Welsh Council for Voluntary Action and Community Leisure UK.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order for our mission for a Vibrant, Active Nation \u2013 and for a society that\u2019s fit for the future \u2013 to be realised, we feel that it\u2019s crucial to provide the entirety of the sporting sector with a foundation upon which to guarantee success in the long-term. Therefore, the WSA ensures that its support services are designed and continuously improved with its members\u2019 specific needs in mind, so we have a sport and leisure industry set up for a strong future here in Wales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re reading outside of Wales, however, there\u2019s no need to worry!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As long as you\u2019re an organisation or body with presence and activity in Wales, the WSA will happily welcome you to its ever-increasing list of members.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The WSA\u2019s team of staff can advise on the specific regulatory landscape in Wales,\u00a0including the\u00a0Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) (No. 5) (Wales) Regulations 2020,\u00a0Welsh Government Guidance on Covid-19\u00a0and a whole host of other issues\u00a0relating to the sport & leisure sector in Wales. The WSA are here to make sure you can operate effectively and efficiently in\u00a0Wales\u00a0and\u00a0play your\u00a0part in encouraging a more \u201cActive, Vibrant Nation\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What benefits are there to WSA membership? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Well, how long have you got?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We offer an extensive list of services to members, with advocacy and policy as well as business support for those providing a healthier future to Wales at the heart of our mission.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From political monitoring\u00a0and COVID-19 support\u00a0to member partnerships, preferential rates and governance templates, the WSA provides a whole host of popular services \u2013 such as its hugely competitive and utilised\u00a0DBS checking service for sport and leisure<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The WSA\u2019s core membership offer will also be experiencing some improvements in the near future, as part of our mission to continuously strive for better in the sporting sector. Current plans involve some exciting new partner agreements, updates to the helpline service and advancements to templates, for example \u2013 stay tuned for further details!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Membership Plus<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The core membership offer is not where our offering concludes, however. April saw the launch of Membership plus, an extension on standard member benefits designed to drive and improve our support services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Membership Plus comprises of two add-on packages (Advocacy Plus and Finance Plus), containing a selection of focussed and cost-effective services with the intention of optimising organisational efficiency and capacity where members require it most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
