{"id":28013,"date":"2023-07-31T10:02:39","date_gmt":"2023-07-31T09:02:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/?p=28013"},"modified":"2023-07-31T10:02:42","modified_gmt":"2023-07-31T09:02:42","slug":"good-boost-join-the-wsa-as-an-associate-member","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/cy\/good-boost-join-the-wsa-as-an-associate-member\/","title":{"rendered":"Good Boost join the WSA as an Associate Member\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Good Boost join the WSA as an Associate Member\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/cy\/\" class=\"ek-link\">Welsh Sports Association<\/a> (WSA) is happy to announce that Good Boost have joined the organisation as an Associate Member.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Good Boost started as a community health research project in public swimming pools in Oxford, England. Since then, they have pioneered the co-design and development of technology for personalised therapeutic exercise and rehab, on land and in water to transform any leisure centre, gym or swimming pool into a community health &amp; wellbeing hub.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodboost.ai\/\" class=\"ek-link\">Good Boost<\/a> launched as a social enterprise in 2018 with the ambition to create more accessible and affordable options for people living with joint conditions and wider long-term health conditions to have more options that combines the practical, emotional and support for effective supported self-management.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They work in partnership with community, leisure and health teams to create community-delivered therapeutic exercise and wellbeing programmes, following a human and experience-centred approach. All their solutions are co-designed and co-produced with beneficiaries and stakeholders to create solutions that are fit-for-purpose, creating local health and wellbeing services.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The organisation&#8217;s mission centres around supporting people to love looking after their health and wellbeing by moving more, having fun and feeling better.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As an Associate Member, they will look for WSA support in showcasing the evidence that their work improves long-term health conditions while pushing the case for greater investment into Leisure from Health budgets.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Good Boost CEO, Ben Wilkins, commented:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe&#8217;re delighted to be accepted as a member of the WSA to work alongside them in the role of leisure, gym, pool and community sports facilities to be transformed to deliver health &amp; wellbeing services alongside sports, fitness and exercise.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cGood Boost is working across many venues in the south of Wales, and we&#8217;re working with partners to grow our mission to ensure that any space can be a therapeutic place, supporting more people throughout the nation to have access to supported self-management for a wide range of joint, pain and long-term health conditions.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Andrew Howard, CEO of the WSA, added:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPhysical activity has significant health benefits for hearts, bodies and minds so the impact that our sector can bring to the health and wellbeing of the Nation is undeniable.
