{"id":30232,"date":"2024-11-22T10:24:55","date_gmt":"2024-11-22T10:24:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/?p=30232"},"modified":"2024-11-22T10:26:33","modified_gmt":"2024-11-22T10:26:33","slug":"geraint-thomas-cycling-trust-joins-wsa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/cy\/geraint-thomas-cycling-trust-joins-wsa\/","title":{"rendered":"Geraint Thomas Cycling Trust joins WSA\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Geraint Thomas Cycling Trust joins WSA<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/cy\/\">Welsh Sports Association<\/a> (WSA) is delighted to welcome the Geraint Thomas Cycling Trust (GTCT) to the WSA membership base as a Full Member.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Set up in 2021, the GTCT exists to ensure that \u2018every young person can enjoy the spirit of cycling by participating in cycling regardless of their individual circumstances.\u2019&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Trust is committed to removing barriers, whether they be financial, geographical, knowledge of bike safety or maintenance, or something else.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They do this by providing a grant fund and support programme for young people, while collaborating with fellow cycling organisations to promote the sport.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Learn more about the GTCT and its work <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegtct.co.uk\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, the GTCT boasts a network of community volunteer mentors to support young people\u2019s participation within the sport as well as partnerships with local cycling clubs and schools who can make referrals and applications for support.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Upon becoming a member of the WSA, the GTCT have started taking advantage of <a href=\"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/cy\/membership-plus-sign-up\/\">Content &amp; Comms Plus<\/a>, a bespoke service offering support with digital presence.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The WSA looks forward to supporting the organisation with its social media activity as well as helping to showcase the vital work that it has done for individuals and groups across the UK so far.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CTCT Chair, Adrian Coles, stated:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are delighted to partner with the WSA given their expertise and unrivalled understanding of the sports arena.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are confident that this partnership will help drive the Geraint Thomas Cycling Trust forward by widening our reach and ultimately helping us as we strive to support 5,000 children access cycling over a 10-year period.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tom Sharp, Commercial Manager at the WSA, added:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe WSA is delighted to welcome the Geraint Thomas Cycling Trust as a Full Member.
