{"id":31303,"date":"2025-08-08T09:14:25","date_gmt":"2025-08-08T08:14:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/?p=31303"},"modified":"2025-08-12T14:33:22","modified_gmt":"2025-08-12T13:33:22","slug":"wsa-collaborates-with-the-cpsu-to-produce-updated-safeguarding-policy-statement-template","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/cy\/wsa-collaborates-with-the-cpsu-to-produce-updated-safeguarding-policy-statement-template\/","title":{"rendered":"WSA collaborates with The CPSU to produce updated Safeguarding Policy Statement\u00a0Template"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>WSA collaborates with The CPSU to produce updated Safeguarding Policy <strong>Statement<\/strong>&nbsp;Template<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/cy\/\">Welsh Sports Association<\/a> (WSA) is delighted to announce the launch of a new Safeguarding Policy Statement template, produced in collaboration with the Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The editable templates provides sport and leisure organisations with the opportunity to implement and embed effective safeguarding policies, practices and procedures within their organisations, enabling a safer sporting culture across the sector.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/wp-content\/uploads\/WSA-x-CPSU-Safeguaring-Policy-Statement-Template-2025.docx\">Find our Safeguarding Policy Statement template here.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/wp-content\/uploads\/CPSU-x-WSA-Template-Safeguarding-Policy-Statement-Guidance-Notes.docx\">And find guidance on how to utilise it here!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Accompanying the template are guidance notes on how to edit it to best suit your organisation, including tailoring it to your reporting mechanism, ensuring a simple process to implement such a vital element of&nbsp;Safeguarding.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WSA Safeguarding Manager, Sian Jones, commented:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe know that collaboration across safeguarding is absolutely critical to making sport and leisure safer, and we were delighted to work with the CPSU on this piece of work to increase accessibility to a key safeguarding resource, tailored to Welsh legislation and best practice.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cProtecting all those involved in sport is a commitment that unites us all, and collaboration on projects such as this enable us to create safe and inclusive environments for everyone.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CPSU Training &amp; Development Consultant, Graham Smith, added:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;This safeguarding policy statement template, developed in partnership with the Welsh Sports Association, reflects our shared commitment to placing children and young people at the centre of sport and physical activity here in Wales. It provides a clear framework for organisations to embed best practice, strengthen safeguarding culture, and ensure safe, inclusive environments across the sector.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
