{"id":31717,"date":"2025-12-08T09:12:13","date_gmt":"2025-12-08T09:12:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/?p=31717"},"modified":"2025-12-08T09:13:14","modified_gmt":"2025-12-08T09:13:14","slug":"run-the-cardiff-half-on-behalf-of-the-welsh-sports-foundation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/cy\/run-the-cardiff-half-on-behalf-of-the-welsh-sports-foundation\/","title":{"rendered":"Run the Cardiff Half on behalf of the Welsh Sports Foundation\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Run the Cardiff Half on behalf of the Welsh Sports Foundation&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Welsh Sports Foundation is delighted to announce that it has limited places available, in the sold-out 2026 Cardiff Half Marathon.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event will take place on Sunday 4<sup>th<\/sup> October 2026 and, having grown into one of the UK\u2019s most exciting road races since its formation in 2003, will once again welcome nearly 30,000 participants from across the globe.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fundraising is at the heart of the Cardiff Half, with many runners choosing to raise money for good causes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Raising more than \u00a33 million each year, the race supports many charities and good causes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now for the 2026 edition, The WSF is thrilled to invite fundraising runners to compete and raise money for the charity next October.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Entry is free, and runners will need to commit to targeting a total of \u00a3500 each.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.welshsportsfoundation.wales\/elementor-page-634\/\">Learn more and enter here!\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The WSF strives to remove financial barriers to sport and physical activity for young people in Wales, creating a healthy and happy Wales where every individual child and young person can participate.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Learn more about the WSF <a href=\"https:\/\/www.welshsportsfoundation.wales\/elementor-page-634\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WSF Chair, Richard Thomas, stated:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Cardiff Half Marathon is an incredible event for the city, generating millions of pounds each year for worthy causes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;What makes our charity unique is how we harness the power and appeal of sport to break down financial barriers to access.
