This pivotal role will lead strategic advocacy, strengthen engagement across the sector, and champion the vital role that sport and physical activity play in creating a healthier, more vibrant Wales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the independent membership body for the sport and leisure industry in Wales, the WSA provides leadership, advocacy and essential governance and business services to help our members thrive. Our mission is to empower organisations to be stronger and more successful\u2014ultimately contributing to&nbsp;<strong>\u201cA Vibrant, Active Nation.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>About the Role<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This role is ideal for a skilled communicator and strategic thinker with an excellent understanding of the Welsh policy landscape. You will be responsible for shaping the organisation\u2019s external voice, building trusted relationships, and representing the sector at the highest levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Key Responsibilities Include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Developing and implementing the WSA\u2019s communications and advocacy strategy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leading public affairs activity and influencing decision-makers across Senedd Cymru, Welsh Government and beyond<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Building strong, collaborative relationships with members, policymakers, media, and sector partners<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Managing stakeholder mapping, public relations, and external communications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creating impactful campaigns to highlight sector priorities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Producing key organisational documents, including consultation responses and the Annual Report<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Who We\u2019re Looking For<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019re seeking a confident and proactive professional with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Significant experience in policy development and influencing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A proven track record in communications strategy and media management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A strong understanding of Welsh political and policy processes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent written, verbal and diplomatic skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ability to translate complex issues into clear, compelling messages<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience advising senior leaders or boards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Welsh language skills and experience working within the sport, public or voluntary sectors are desirable but not essential.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Why Join the WSA?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We pride ourselves on being&nbsp;<strong>agile, collaborative and trusted<\/strong>, working closely with members to strengthen the sport and leisure sector across Wales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Benefits include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Salary:\u00a0<strong>\u00a345,000 \u2013 \u00a348,000<\/strong>, depending on experience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hybrid working policy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>25 days\u2019 holiday (rising to 27)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NEST pension with matched contributions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Health insurance and life assurance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cycle2Work scheme &amp;
