{"id":32065,"date":"2026-04-01T09:28:49","date_gmt":"2026-04-01T08:28:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/?p=32065"},"modified":"2026-04-01T09:40:19","modified_gmt":"2026-04-01T08:40:19","slug":"welsh-surfing-federation-look-ahead-to-welsh-national-surfing-championships-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/cy\/welsh-surfing-federation-look-ahead-to-welsh-national-surfing-championships-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Welsh Surfing Federation look ahead to Welsh National Surfing Championships 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Welsh Surfing Federation look ahead to Welsh National Surfing Championships 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Welsh Surfing Federation (WSF) is looking ahead to the Welsh National Surfing Championships 2026 later this month, with competition in both the Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Divisions having never been fiercer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In preparation, WSF journalist Steve White has chatted to two standout athletes who will be eyeing titles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Welsh warrior Josie Hawke will be hopeful of adding to previous national titles following a strong showing at the Croyde Pro Junior 2026 last month, where she stepped onto the podium twice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The multiple Welsh Nationals winner and last year\u2019s Rip Curl GromSearch UK champ showed her mettle against some of the nation&#8217;s best junior surfers to place second in the U16 and third in the U18 girls\u2019 division at pumping Croyde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"750\" src=\"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5280-1024x750.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-32066\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.3653693903912663;width:626px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5280-1024x750.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/wsa.wales\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5280-300x220.jpg 300w, https:\/\/wsa.wales\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5280-768x563.jpg 768w, https:\/\/wsa.wales\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5280-16x12.jpg 16w, https:\/\/wsa.wales\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5280.jpg 1170w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:18px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI spent International Women\u2019s Day at the Croyde Pro Junior surf competition,\u201d she told WSF. \u201cOn the first day, the surf was amazing and I managed to win all my heats and get the highest single-wave score out of all the girls. I\u2019ve been kind of getting back into that competitive mindset,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Competing at various events has aided Perrins-Davies\u2019 preparations and, alongside the tough competition, he\u2019ll now look to secure another national title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cObviously, you\u2019ve got the likes of Pat, Logan, Seth Morris, Elliot Barton; there\u2019s so many good surfers. We\u2019ll all be aiming to get silverware. But I don\u2019t really want to think about that; I just want to focus on myself and if I can perform to the best of my ability, I\u2019m happy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:22px\"
