New era for Afan United as Cymru Football Foundation funds on- and off-field facilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Facilities at Afan United in Port Talbot have undergone a huge renovation thanks to funding from WSA member Cymru Football Foundation, as well as Sport Wales and Neath Port Talbot Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The six-figure investment has seen the previously abandoned facility transform into a modern football hub for the local area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together with the club\u2019s fundraising efforts, this collaborative investment means the high-quality facility will now serve future generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brand-new off-field facilities also means a safe space for players \u2013 particularly women and girls \u2013 to call their own with the project including modern, welcoming changing rooms and clubhouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The completion of the project at Afan United sees the total invested into Neath Port Talbot by the CFF top \u00a31.4million since 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the structural improvements, the new facility also carries deep cultural significance. A mural honouring Port Talbot-born, former Cymru boss Brian Flynn also features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The artwork serves as both a tribute to his contribution to Welsh football and an inspiration to young players using the new facility, linking the club\u2019s future ambitions with its proud local heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aled Lewis, Director at the Cymru Football Foundation said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe new facilities at Afan United encapsulate what the CFF is about \u2013 investing in high-quality facilities in communities across Cymru that need them most.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA huge thank you to UK Government, the Football Association of Wales and the Premier League for their continued support \u2013 together we\u2019re working to improve Welsh football on and off the pitch.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re so excited for the future of Afan United Football Club \u2013 what was initially just a vision has come to life, and we couldn\u2019t be happier with how the facilities have turned out.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWithout the support of the Cymru Football Foundation, Welsh Government and Neath Port Talbot Council we\u2019d still be at the first step. The hard work has paid off, and we\u2019ve now got facilities to be proud of.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
