{"id":8606,"date":"2017-07-28T10:33:03","date_gmt":"2017-07-28T09:33:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wsa.wales\/?p=8606"},"modified":"2019-09-04T16:29:59","modified_gmt":"2019-09-04T15:29:59","slug":"open-consultation-nafw-inquiry-physical-activity-children-young-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/cy\/open-consultation-nafw-inquiry-physical-activity-children-young-people\/","title":{"rendered":"Open Consultation: Terms of Reference for NAfW Inquiry into physical activity of children and young people"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>The National Assembly for Wales&#8217;&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/senedd.assembly.wales\/mgCommitteeDetails.aspx?ID=448\">Health, Social Care and Sport Committee<\/a>&nbsp;has launched a <a href=\"http:\/\/senedd.assembly.wales\/mgConsultationDisplay.aspx?id=267&amp;RPID=1509037886&amp;cp=yes\">consultation into the terms of reference for the Inquiry into the physical activity of children and young people.<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>The&nbsp;Committee&nbsp;is calling for for views on asking for evidence about:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8607 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/wsa.wales\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Nafw-logo-300x80.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"96\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What do we&nbsp;know about physical activity levels in children in Wales? How robust is the data on this issue?<\/li>\n<li>Differences in gender-based attitudes towards, and opportunities for, participation in physical activity in Wales.<\/li>\n<li>The extent to which Welsh Government policies are aimed at whole populations and\/or particular groups, and what impact that approach has on addressing health inequalities.<\/li>\n<li>Barriers to increasing the levels of physical activity among children in Wales, and examples of good practice in achieving increases in physical activity, and in engagement with hard to reach groups, within Wales, the UK and internationally.<\/li>\n<li>Physical activity guidelines and how we benchmark physical fitness in children.<\/li>\n<li>Measurement, evaluation and effectiveness of the Welsh Government\u2019s programmes and schemes aimed at promoting physical activity of children.<\/li>\n<li>Value for money of Welsh Government spending to promote exercise in children.<\/li>\n<li>The role of schools, parents and peers in encouraging physical activity, and the role of Sport Wales,&nbsp;NHS Wales and Public Health Wales in improving levels of physical activity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The deadline for responses is <strong>15 September 2017.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The WSA will be submitting a response on behalf of its members, so please get in touch with kate.evans@wsa.wales if you would like to be involved.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to contribute individually, you can send your views to:&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:SeneddHealth@assembly.wales\">SeneddHealth@assembly.wales<\/a>&nbsp;but please check the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.assembly.wales\/en\/bus-home\/committees\/Pages\/Providing-evidence-for-committees.aspx\"> response guidelines<\/a> on the committee&#8217;s website before doing so.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Assembly for Wales&#8217;&nbsp;Health, Social Care and Sport Committee&nbsp;has launched a consultation into the terms of reference for the Inquiry into the physical activity of children and young people.
