Development and Events Manager – Welsh Target Shooting Federation
Location: WTSF office, Cardiff, Wales and Nationally. (With flexibility for remote
working.)
Contract Type: Part-time, Permanent. 24 hours per week (60% FTE)
Salary: Circa £18k – £21k (£30k – £35k FTE)

The Welsh Target Shooting Federation (WTSF) is the governing body for target shooting sports in Wales, currently representing five member associations:
- Welsh Airgun Association
- Welsh Clay Target Shooting Association
- Welsh Rifle Association
- Welsh Smallbore Rifle Association
- Welsh Airgun Field Target Association
We are dedicated to promoting and developing the sport at all levels, from grassroots to elite performance. Our mission is to inspire and support shooters to achieve their full potential and to foster a vibrant shooting community across Wales.
Role Overview: We are seeking an initiative-taking and enthusiastic Development and Events Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the growth and development of target shooting in Wales, as well as planning and executing a range of events to engage and inspire our community. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the sport and to work with a passionate and dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to increase participation in target shooting across Wales.
- Plan, organise, and deliver a variety of events, including competitions and community outreach programs.
- Work closely with Associations, clubs, coaches, and volunteers to support their development and growth.
- Identify and secure funding opportunities to support development and event initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Sport
- Wales, Regional Sports Partnerships, local authorities, and other relevant organisations.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of development programmes and events.
- Promote the sport through effective marketing and communication strategies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in a similar development or events management role, preferably within a sports organisation.
- Strong understanding of the sports development landscape in Wales.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Experience in securing funding and managing budgets.
- Passion for target shooting and a commitment to promoting the sport.
- Full UK driving Licence.
