Hockey Wales WSA Membership Testimonial

Hockey Wales WSA Membership Testimonial

Ria Burrage-Male is CEO at Hockey Wales and, although she arrived after the organisation joined the Welsh Sports Association as members, says continuing with WSA membership was not a difficult decision.

Hockey Wales CEO, Ria Burrage-Male

Ria stated:

We’ve stayed on with the WSA because of the people in the organisation and the support we receive as and when we need it – from partnership introductions and opportunities, to support with digital systems and, of course, the COVID-19 Pandemic, through which their work to support and advise members has been tremendous.

Ria went on to describe the impact Hockey Wales has felt from the WSA’s partner offers:

We’ve also benefitted from the WSA’s collaborative approach to products and services, and their general approach to involving the whole sector, which ensures that members receive the best deal.

For example, I asked the WSA if any other National Governing Bodies required a membership system for their organisations. And, with that enquiry, they supported us through a tender process and engaged NGB’s who were in the same situation as us, consequently reducing the price of the system that Sport:80 provided!

This has also happened with other products and partners such as Joymo, who are now Hockey Wales’ exclusive livestreaming provider.

Ria concluded by recommending the WSA to anyone in the sports sector:

My general experience with the WSA has been great; they’re just good people who really want to help us and help the sector to thrive.

Rather reluctantly (because I’d rather have them solely for Hockey Wales!) I would 100% recommend WSA membership to other organisations in the sector.
