WSA partner Loosemores Solicitors acquired by Hugh James

The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) will have a new legal partner following the acquisition of Loosemores Solicitors by Hugh James, with members still set to enjoy the same benefits as previously.

Loosemores have become a part of Hugh James – a top 100 UK law firm – who will take over responsibilities and liabilities in relation to WSA matters.

Hugh James will work with ourselves and our members in the same way that Loosemores did so successfully prior to the acquisition.

The WSA membership base will still have access to an hour of pro-bono service from legal experts who specialise in the sport and leisure sector, while members’ main contact will remain Mark Loosemore, who has now become a Partner at Hugh James.

The firm is a well-regarded and thriving multi-disciplinary law firm with an award-winning headquarters in Cardiff and offices in London, Southampton, Plymouth, and Manchester.

They have grown from humble beginnings in 1960 to become a leading law firm, with many of their lawyers are recognised as leaders in their specialist fields, representing several high-profile businesses and organisations across the UK and overseas.

Although the firm’s workforce has grown to more than 650, it has retained and nurtured a unique culture which is based on hard work, exceptional talent, ambition, empathy, innovation and good humour. It is those qualities that have helped the firm grow the business to where it stands today.

Their ambitious growth is built from solid foundations, with a proud heritage which began in the Welsh valleys over 60 years ago. The business is renowned for its deep roots in the community, and pro-bono service, and is focused on delivering a positive impact for its colleagues, clients, and community partners for the future.

Partner at Hugh James, Mark Loosemore, commented:

“As proud legal partner of the Welsh Sports Association, Hugh James will pick up immediately where Loosemores left off, providing expert legal counsel to the WSA and delivering an important pro-bono service to its members and partners.

“On behalf of Hugh James, I look forward to bolstering our successful partnership with the enhanced sector experience across sport, entertainment and charities and contributing valuable legal services to the WSA network.”
