WSA support Volunteer of the Year award at WEDSA 2025
The Welsh Sports Association is thrilled to support the Volunteer of the Year award at the Wales Ethnic Diversity Sports Awards 2025.
Learn more about WEDSA here.
The awards recognise and celebrate the incredible contributions of ethnically diverse individuals and communities in sport and physical activity across Wales.
WEDSA shines a spotlight on athletes, coaches, volunteers, community groups, and organisations making a positive impact through sport. Whether it’s breaking down barriers, driving inclusion, or inspiring others, these changemakers deserve to be seen, heard, and applauded.
The WSA is delighted to be supporting the awards this year, sponsoring the Volunteer of the Year award.
Volunteers are the backbone of the sport and leisure sector, making an often unnoticed but always vital impact at grassroots level to keep sports alive across communities.
In fact, in 2023, volunteers contributed £430m worth of value in providing sport and physical activity opportunities in Wales.
WSA CEO Andrew Howard commented:
“We are proud to support this award, as it offers a timely opportunity to highlight our forthcoming volunteering app. The app will connect enthusiastic volunteers with opportunities across the sector, helping to strengthen community engagement. The WEDSA Awards provide the perfect platform to share this initiative with community heroes from across Wales, while advancing our goal of making volunteering more inclusive.”
This particular award celebrates this impact and dedication, as well as shining a light on how volunteers across Wales help promote ethnic diversity throughout sporting communities too.
The recipient of the WEDSA 2025 Volunteer of the Year will have made a significant mark in promoting ethnic diversity and inclusivity within the sporting industry through their volunteer work.
We look forward to presenting this award on the night, while also celebrating the outstanding work across the sector that champions inclusivity, equality, and diversity within sport and leisure.
