Allianz Sports Fund: Second round for 2022 launching soon!

The second round of the Allianz Sports Fund for 2022 will launch imminently!

Following a successful first year, in which two rounds of funding saw £100,000 split into 75 separate grants to help support sports clubs across the UK, Allianz have opened up third and fourth round of the funds this year.

In June, £50,000 was distributed in grants of either £500, £1000, £2000, or £3000 to sports clubs around the UK focusing on initiatives centred around disability, inclusivity and diversity.

With applications opening on September 5th, the second round of 2022 will see another £50,000 being given to community sport clubs that need it most.

This time around, the Allianz Sports Fund will focus on coaching and new club initiatives.

It is important to remember that Allianz will only accept applications from sports clubs that have been nominated by one of their broker partners – of which Welsh Sports Association (WSA) partners Watkin Davies are one!

Once put forward by an Allianz broker partner, sports clubs can expect to be the subject of deliberation among a panel of Allianz senior leaders, employees, Team GB and Paralympics GB representatives, who will allocate grants accordingly. Successful applicants will then be notified on November 25th!

The grants really have the power to make a meaningful impact upon your club, so don’t hesitate in getting involved!

In 2021, Stockport School of Gymnastics received a grant from the fund, and told Allianz:

“This is fantastic news and will make such a difference to our club and members. Thank you so much for awarding this grant to us, it will enable us to purchase much needed equipment and aid our recovery from COVID-19.”

Meanwhile, Westbury RFC said:

“Thank you so much for picking us. It means a lot to the club. We are working hard to make sure we represent our community better and so it is fantastic that you have noticed our steps in the right direction.”

There’s no reason why that can’t be you!

The application window opens on September 5th, with the deadline set at October 21st – so make sure you get them in!
