FIH Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023 – European Qualifier

Hockey Wales are hosting the European FIH Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023 – European Qualifier, which will be an 8-team tournament comprising of Wales, Russia, France, Ireland, Scotland, Poland, Italy and Austria.

• The teams that are ranked 6 – 8 in the EuroHockey Championship 2021.

• The teams that are ranked 1 – 5 in the EuroHockey Championship II 2021

• The host of the FIH Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023 – European Qualifier will be one of the 8 teams qualified for the tournament.

• Format: Knock-out format: 4 days, 3 matches each (12 in total) and each match matters.

• Final ranking is 1 to 8.

For the purpose of determining the Match Schedule of the FIH Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023 – European Qualifier, the ranking of the teams playing in this tournament will be in order of the FIH World Rankings upon completion of the EuroHockey Championship II 2021.

The teams that are ranked 1 and 2 in the FIH Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023 – European Qualifier will qualify for the FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023
