Time for Change: Tackling Racism in Sport
Racism and racial inequalities still exist within sport in the UK, with ethnically diverse communities continuing to be consistently disadvantaged and discriminated against in our sporting community.
We all have a responsibility to ensure that everyone can have a positive experience and reap the benefits of sport and physical activity.
The Sports Councils are committed to working together to drive equality and transformational change across sport, ensuring that all parts of the system, from community to elite level are fair, welcoming, inclusive, and diverse.
Together, we can achieve this.
Time for Change: Tackling Racism in Sport marks two years since the CEOs of the five Sports Councils commissioned the Tackling Racism and Racial Inequality in Sport (TRARIIS) review to explore the extent to which racism exists within our community and help us better understand the specific issues.
Every six months, the five Sports Councils have reported publicly on their collective work in response to the review’s recommendations.
However, we know we can and must do more to drive racial equality across all nations and sport.
This conference will share learnings and maintain the momentum of this important work.
Through keynotes and practical workshops, you will:
- Gain clarity about our TRARIIS commitments and the part we can all play to help drive further change
- Hear examples of good practice and, anti-racist initiatives from across the sporting community
- Understand the tangible action we can all take and gain practical tools to help implement change
