Wales v Poland – UEFA Nations League

Wales play their second match of the September international break as they host Poland in the UEFA Nations League at the Cardiff City Stadium on the evening of Sunday 25th September.

The match comes a few days after Cymru travel to Brussels for the latest instalment in what has become an intriguing rivalry with Belgium over the last few years. Rob Page’s men held the Red Devils to a 1-1 draw in the Welsh capital back in June, during an international break that saw fellow Nations League Group A4 members Netherlands beat Wales twice, after Cymru sealed their first World Cup finals appearance for the first time since 1958 with a victory over Ukraine.

That same break, however, saw Page’s side fall to a 2-1 defeat to Poland in Wroclaw. Three losses in their first four Nations League games leaves Cymru at risk of relegation back to league B, making their trip to Belgium and final match against Poland – of whom Wales are three points adrift at the foot of the group – crucial ties.

Hosting the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Matty Cash, Wojciech Szczesny and other big European names represents Wale’s final task before travelling to Qatar for the World Cup.
