Women’s Sport Seminar – hosted by Women in Sport and the LTA
Women in Sport and the LTA are bringing together leaders from across the sport sector for a Women’s Sport Seminar exploring “why women and girls belong: driving change through grassroots sport” held at the home of British Tennis.
Focusing on the three key areas of visibility, participation and workforce, this event will celebrate the progress made towards achieving gender equality in sport and explore what still needs to be done to build on this success, as we strive towards gender balance across sport. Led by the expertise of Women in Sport, attendees will have the opportunity to share best practise and address areas where change is needed.
Women in Sport have fought for over 30 years to break down stubborn gender inequalities through its work within the sports sector and beyond. The charity has a track record of success in securing change based on its deep understanding of the needs and aspirations of women and girls at each life stage, providing expert and sector leading insight and campaigning to empower more women and girls to be active.
The LTA is the national governing body for tennis in Britain, and as a not-for-profit organisation, our role is to govern and grow tennis in Britain, from grassroots participation through to the professional game. The LTA’s vision is to open up tennis and its associated benefits to more people and places across the country by making it more relevant, accessible, welcoming and enjoyable to anyone, from players of all abilities and backgrounds to many millions of fans. As one of the most gender equal sports both at grassroots and elite level, tennis has a history to be proud of, but one which the LTA is committed to building on through their She Rallies plan.
This one day event will bring together leaders across the sport sector to enjoy a packed agenda including hearing from former British No.1 tennis player, Billie Jean King Cup Captain and experienced broadcaster, Anne Keothavong MBE. Attendees will also be able to take part in a networking lunch and a coach led introduction to padel session.
