Joymo To Serve Up Live Streaming Support For Badminton Wales

JOYMO TO SERVE UP LIVE STREAMING SUPPORT FOR BADMINTON WALES

WSA partners Badminton Wales have partnered with Joymo, WSA’s Livestreaming Partner, who will become the National Governing Body’s exclusive live streaming provider.

The agreement will see the grassroots streaming service broadcast Badminton Wales’ National and Regional events on the platform throughout the remainder of 2021.

Badminton Wales and its members will now benefit from Joymo’s pioneering live video streaming platform that has been built for athletes, teams and sports organisers – at every level of competition – enabling them to broadcast their content directly to fans who can watch live or on demand.

The new partnership is a result of Joymo’s previously announced deal with the WSA. The agreement sees Joymo work closely with the WSA’s members to accelerate their direct-to-fan streaming ambitions.

Discussing the partnership, Badminton Wales CEO, Kelly Aston MBE, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Joymo to make our events available to a wider audience of badminton fans that can’t always attend events in person. We are now able to give supporters the flexibility to watch top-quality national badminton events live or on demand across multiple devices.

“Broadcasting our content enables us to unlock additional revenue streams, which ultimately will help us ensure that badminton remains accessible for all participants across the country, from grassroot players to elite performers.”

Commenting on the collaboration. Mike Emery, CEO of Joymo, said: “Joymo is all about empowering sports organisers and participants – at all levels – by providing them with the tools and technology to broadcast directly to their fans. We’re thrilled to partner with Badminton Wales and look forward to helping them realise the value of their content.

“Joymo will not only help Badminton Wales generate revenues, but also provide ownership of all advertising, sponsorship and user data – this is really valuable for sport federations and is often overlooked when content is made available on free social media platforms”, Emery adds.

Victoria Ward, Chief Executive of the WSA, added: “We’re thrilled that Badminton Wales have teamed-up with Joymo. We were impressed by the simplicity, safety, and cost-effective nature of the platform and have been actively encouraging our members to start streaming. The potential revenue generation for some members and their stakeholders is huge, and that can be significant in helping many sports clubs, leagues and competitions become financially sustainable after the devastating impact of the Covid pandemic. Joymo’s focus on safeguarding, secure data management and GDPR compliance is also impressive and should provide peace-of-mind to all users.”
