Launch of WSA Sports Industry Awards 2023!
The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) is thrilled to be launching the inaugural WSA Sports Industry Awards for 2023!
The event will take place on the 8th of June later this year, and will be an evening of celebration to recognise the the best in Wales’ sport and leisure industry!
The awards will recognise and Promote the initiatives and successes of WSA members, while also communicating best-practice models and strategies that are helping the Welsh sport and leisure sector to Develop.
The WSA is delighted to also reveal that Complete Background Screening (CBS) will be headline sponsor for the Awards. CBS will also sponsor one of the eight award categories.
The Awards up for grabs on the night are:
- Best Equality, Diversity and Inclusion initiative, sponsored by Acorn Recruitment
- Best Initiative to Promote Women in Sport & Physical Activity, sponsored by Complete Background Screening
- Best Innovation Award
- Best Commitment to the Welsh Language, sponsored by Tinint
- Best Sustainability initiative
- Best Social Impact initiative, sponsored by 2buy2
- Best Collaboration initiative (Participation, Sponsorship or Member engagement)
- Most Influential campaign (Communications, PR or advocacy), sponsored by Loosemores Solicitors
Has your organisation delivered outstanding initiatives in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion or in the promotion of Women in Sport & Physical Activity?
Perhaps you’ve been leading the way in Innovation or the Welsh Language?
Or are you making a difference in Sustainability or in Social impact in Wales or its Communities?
Has your organisation got a fantastic Collaboration story to tell in participation, sponsorship or Member engagement?
Or, do you have a Communications, PR or advocacy campaign that is the most influential?
If the answer to any or all of the above is Yes… Then get applying!
The deadline for applications is the 9th of April 2023. You can complete an entry in English or Welsh via our online application form below!
All member organisations of the Welsh Sports Association on or before 1st March 2023 are eligible. WSA member organisations can also apply on behalf of their own members. For more detail on our eligibility criteria, visit our terms and conditions.
The judging panel will need as detailed information as possible within the application guidelines. The judging panel recognise that the WSA Membership is diverse and resources differ greatly from one organisation to another. However, video entries bringing projects to life will be advantageous.
Work should have the potential to create significant impact for the sector. This impact will demonstrate a combination of positive outcomes. Impact might be achieved by the growth of the organisation applying, or by the spread of their ideas to its members or other organisations.  Applicants should also show good governance and management. 
Winning a WSA Sports Industry Award will showcase your organisation’s outstanding work and achievement throughout the Sport and Leisure sector in Wales. Additionally, the profile of winning an Award will also be brought to the attention of influential stakeholders within the sector such as Welsh Government, Sport Wales, Community Leisure UK, WSA Partners and the media. Moreover, your excellent work will be showcased to other WSA Members as exemplar models for the sector.
