New Safeguarding training launched by WSA partner St John Ambulance Cymru

WSA partner St John Ambulance Cymru has recently launched a new Safeguarding Group B course to help delegates gain the knowledge and confidence to recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns. The course is designed for anyone who has regular contact with adults, children, or members of the public.

The charity is dedicated to saving lives across Wales by delivering workplace training, providing medical cover at events, and supporting communities through a range of initiatives and services.

The safeguarding course expands St John Ambulance Cymru’s existing training portfolio, which includes workplace first aid, health and safety, and mental health first aid courses.

The new Safeguarding training course from St John Ambulance Cymru consists of two to three hours of digital pre-course reading, followed by a face-to-face training day. Delegates will gain an understanding of relevant legislation and policies, learn to identify factors that may contribute to abuse, harm, or neglect, and understand how and when to report safeguarding concerns. On successful completion, delegates will be awarded a Safeguarding Group B certificate.

Safeguarding in Wales is a growing area of focus, with increasing concerns and more complex and evolving risks. Across sport and community organisations, including clubs and voluntary groups, safeguarding must remain a priority, and training is essential.

WSA members receive a 20% discount on all courses, including this new Safeguarding Group B course. To book, enquire or find out more, please contact our dedicated WSA Members Team by email at [email protected] or call 0300 201 1999.
