Nominations are now open for the 2019 UK Coaching Awards

Nominations are now open for the 2019 UK Coaching Awards, full details can be found here:

Sport Wales along with the other Home Nations Sports Councils are working closely with UK Coaching to ensure that the awards reflect the great coaching that takes place across all the Home Nations.

Whilst we want to encourage nominations to be submitted in all the categories, we are particularly keen to see nominations from Wales in the following Categories:

  • Children’s Coach of the Year
  • Young Coach of the Year
  • Community Coach of the Year
  • High Performance Coach of the Year
  • Coaching for an Active Life

Welsh Coaches have a proud history at the UK Coaching Awards and last year was no exception with Francesca Lewis winning the Talent Development Coach of the Year and Lee Coulson the Community Coach of the Year. The Coaches who contributed to Geraint Thomas’s success from Maindy Flyers and Welsh Cycling were also recognised with The Coaching Chain Award.

As you are aware one of the Coaching in Wales objectives is that Coaching is Valued and the UK Coaching Awards along with the Welsh Sports Awards are an ideal opportunity to showcase the contribution that Coaching and Coaches are making to Sport in Wales. We are aware that a number of the Welsh Coaching Network Members run their own awards so please put your winners forward to the UK Coaching Awards.

Nominations close on 18th September and we will be sending weekly reminders as we want as many Welsh Nominations and finalists as possible.

Also Coming up – nominations for the Wales Sport Awards, organised by BBC Wales and Sport Wales, will be open in September and also welcome entries that reflect the work of coaches across Wales
