Sports commentator and former rugby international Philippa Tuttiett has joined the Welsh Sports Association (WSA) membership base as an Associate Member.

A Cardiff native, Philippa is a former rugby union international and captained the Welsh 7s and Cardiff Rugby – or Cardiff Blues, as it was then known – before retiring following the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia.

She can now be seen on television, commentating on both men’s and women’s rugby. Philippa has worked some of the biggest competitions in the sport, having worked with ITV and BBC on the coverage of the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Passionate about the promotion of women’s sport, Philippa is also a Women’s Sports Trust ambassador.

As a member of the WSA, she will look to connect with the wider sport and leisure sector through our extensive network of organisations, and take advantage of our CPD opportunities such as governance training and NED training courses.

Commenting on her WSA membership, Philippa stated:

“I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to play rugby at the highest level, experiencing all the amazing benefits from playing sport and the varied experiences it gave me. I am now very passionate about helping everyone to engage with sport, be that taking part, coaching or watching.

“I am excited to connect and learn from more like-minded individuals within the Welsh Sports Association network.”
