St John Cymru – First Aid Training
The Welsh Sports Association is pleased to confirm that WSA partners St John Cymru have re-opened their training centres across Wales, with added safeguards in place to ensure safe participation for all. These include social distancing measures and enhanced hygiene & cleaning procedures.
St John Cymru’s training service is an essential service qualification. The training service has never stopped for key workers during the pandemic e.g. ambulance crews etc. It was the decision of various committees and providers, including the The First Aid Quality Partnership, to decide to stop the commercial training for a particular period.
The commercial training is now back, based on a consultation with IOSH, British Safety Council and with appropriate risk assessments in place.
St John Cymru have confirmed that there is no particular legislation to stop first aid training being delivered, as it’s an essential qualification, but considerations have to be made for Covid-19 and appropriate risk assessments have to be in place in order for training sessions to be safely delivered.
As Wales’s leading first aid charity, St John Cymru have a wealth of experience in delivering quality training courses to thousands of organisations throughout Wales. This includes bespoke sport first aid courses that can be tailored around the needs of individual sports organisations & associated clubs.
We are pleased to confirm a fantastic offering for our WSA members nationwide. These include:
- 20% discount across all courses at St John Cymru centres
- 20% discount on all group bookings, on site, at customer venues or at WSA venues
- Children’s first aid bookings are offered without charge
- A 10% discount has been offered across the board for first aid at events.
- WSA members, customers and partners also have the opportunity to negotiate further discretionary discounts, at a local level, where required.
- In addition to fantastic concessions on training & events, both organisations have worked together to bring our members a 10% discount across the full suite of products.
