Cricket Wales Trustee Recruitment vacancy

Cricket Wales / Criced Cymru are looking to recruit at least two new Trustees to join the Board of Cricket Wales.

This is an exciting time to be joining the Board as we have recently become a Charity and embark on delivering our next strategic plan. To see more details of the Trustees’ role see attached document and more details of the Strategy can be accessed – Strategy

We are looking to recruit one Independent Trustee who can be a member of a cricket club but must have no administrative role in any cricket club or organisation in Wales, together with at least one Recreational Game Trustee who must be a member of a club or organisation and can be involved in cricket administration in Wales and will need to be proposed by a member of a club or cricket organisation.

We therefore welcome applications from anyone who meets the eligibility criteria to be a Trustee and never having been a Trustee before is not a barrier to being part of our Board as a full induction will be provided. Guidance on becoming a Trustee can be found here.

If you feel that you have some of the skills, competencies and experience that would help us continue to be a high performing Board in how we discharge our duties then please consider applying to join us.

In this instance we would particularly welcome applications from people with a strong interest and experience in one or more of the following;

Generating income from sponsorship, commercial relationships, or charitable donations
Governance and Compliance with the potential to take on the role of Company Secretary
Safeguarding; with the willingness to take on the role as Board Safeguarding Lead from November 2027

Board meetings are held four times per year via Teams/Zoom teleconference. These focus on our core role of ensuring we have strong financial oversight, on safeguarding, risk management, and ensuring strong governance. In addition, there are two or three face to face day time Board meetings focused on strategy, culture, and values / behaviours including self-evaluation of Board performance. Trustees will also serve on one or two Board Committees which normally meet four times a year as required; these are evening meetings held via Teams / Zoom teleconference

In addition, Board Trustees are invited to attend official events such as presentations, competition finals and other relevant meetings. This is accepted to be on an ‘as available’ basis and is therefore not mandatory although support is always welcomed by our cricket community.

The Trustees role is unpaid although expenses incurred will be reimbursed
