WSA achieves Emerging Quality Assurance standard as CIMSPA Education Partner  

The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) is thrilled to have been awarded the Emerging Quality Assurance standard by CIMSPA, for our Level 1 First Aid in Sport course.  

This first aid training is available via the WSA Online Training Platform, offering participants an introductory understanding of how to prevent injury and promote safety measures as a Coach/Volunteer, and how to initiate first aid whilst waiting for a medical professional.

Following endorsement and subsequent assessment, this course has received the Emerging Quality Assurance standard, awarded by CIMPSA. 

CIMPSA assesses training providers to ensure they are delivering training that adheres to their own codes of conduct, as well as other good practice guidelines such as health and safety and safeguarding. 

The reviews are carried out by CIMSPA’s team of independent Quality Assurance Advisors and are split into three categories: 

1. Quality of Education 

2. Learner Journey 

3. Marketing and Promotion 

The WSA is delighted that Level 1 First Aid in Sport has been given the Emerging qualification as part of this framework, indicating that minimum standards for operation are being met and that a timed action plan to ensure adherence to CIMSPA’s standards and expectations has been set. 

We currently have the assessments of other CPD opportunities offered by the WSA pending, while selected Lunchtime Learnings and Communities have been awarded CPD points by CIMSPA.

CIMSPA’s role is to ensure that everyone in the sport and leisure sector is working to a consistently high standard, and are equipped with the right knowledge, skills, and behaviours to perform their roles and progress in their career. 

To ensure endorsed products are of the highest standards, they ensure all partners go through a quality assurance checking process leading to a CIMSPA Quality Assurance Outcome.
