Hodge Bakshi proud to be headline sponsor at WSA Sports Industry Awards 2026

Hodge Bakshi is proud to be the headline sponsor of the celebrated Welsh Sports Association (WSA) Sports Industry Awards for 2026, taking place on Thursday 4 June.

Welsh sport and leisure organisations make a meaningful difference to communities across the country, creating opportunities, encouraging participation, and supporting people of all ages and backgrounds. Hodge Bakshi is delighted to support an evening dedicated to recognising the individuals, clubs, governing bodies and organisations helping Welsh sport continue to thrive.

With more than 40 years of supporting clients across Wales, Hodge Bakshi understands the important role businesses and organisations play in strengthening local communities and creating long-term positive impact. Based in Cardiff, the Hodge Bakshi team works closely with organisations across a wide range of sectors, building trusted relationships and helping clients navigate financial and strategic challenges with confidence.

At the heart of Hodge Bakshi is a people-focused approach. By combining technical expertise with strong local knowledge, the firm has built long-standing partnerships with clients throughout Wales, supporting organisations as they grow, evolve and contribute to their communities.

The firm’s sponsorship of the 2026 WSA Sports Industry Awards reflects its continued commitment to supporting Welsh organisations and celebrating excellence, innovation and collaboration across the sports and leisure sector.

Hodge Bakshi is also sponsoring the evening’s ‘Best Commitment to the Welsh Language’ award, an award which has been won by varying types of WSA members, from an NGB three years ago to a leisure provider last year.

The award has been a feature of the ceremony since its inaugural event in 2023, when it was first picked up by the Football Association of Wales for its work with Dafydd Iwan’s Yma o Hyd around the 2022 World Cup and beyond.

The Outdoor Partnership won the award in 2024, claiming it for the Bant a Ni project, an initiative that creates and supports a network of outdoor instructors and enthusiasts who are either first language Welsh speakers or who are learning Welsh.

And last year the award went to Byw’n Iach, for the organisation’s work as the only independent leisure provider in the world operating primarily through the medium of Welsh, a commitment central to their relationship with the local community and their mission to normalise and grow the use of the Welsh language in the leisure sector.

This year, we have a strong field of nominees for the Best Commitment to the Welsh Language award, with the following organisations shortlisted:

  • Disability Sport Wales, for Useful Phrases for Trilingual Coaching
  • Triathlon Cymru, for Tri Dewi
  • Wales Golf, for Golff Cymru – Ein Hymrwymiad i’n Hiaith

The WSA Awards continue to shine a spotlight on the outstanding achievements taking place across Welsh sport, recognising initiatives that promote inclusion, participation, sustainability, innovation and social impact. With another strong field of nominees for 2026, the evening promises to celebrate inspiring stories and the continued success of the Welsh sports industry.

Melanie O’Connor, a Director at Hodge Bakshi, commented:

“It is a privilege to support the Welsh Sports Association as headline sponsor of the 2026 Sports Industry Awards. Welsh sport and leisure organisations make a significant contribution to communities across the country, and we are proud to celebrate the individuals and organisations making a positive impact throughout Wales.”
