Cardiff Met Sport is at the heart of sport, physical activity, health & wellbeing in Wales’ Capital City. Our mission is clear – ‘to profoundly enhance the lives of our communities, making them healthier and stronger as an outcome of engaging with us’.

We work in partnership with a range of local, regional and national partners to develop and manage high quality sport facilities including, the National Indoor Athletics Centre, Tennis Centre and Archers Arena on our Cyncoed Campus along with a number of 21st Century Schools across the City.

To continue to achieve all of this, we need people who bring fresh ideas, creativity and commitment to making a difference, who want to make a positive and lasting impact on people’s lives, in Wales and beyond.

We’ve developed a new position as a Sport Sales & Marketing Officer to support our growth by helping turn great ideas into income‑generating activity. Working within the Business Development team, you’ll focus on attracting new customers, retaining existing audiences and showcasing our facilities and programmes to the communities we serve.

You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues, while also engaging with schools, community groups and partners. In this role, your creativity, commercial awareness and people skills will make a real and visible difference – from shaping campaigns to developing new and compelling offers for the community.

You’ll also make a difference by:

  • Identifying and developing new opportunities to attract and engage customers.
  • Delivering against sales targets, using performance data to shape decision making.
  • Creating and delivering targeted sales campaigns that maximise return on investment and generate sustainable income.

What you’ll bring
You’ll bring a proactive and commercially‑minded approach and feel confident working in a target driven environment. With experience in sales, you’ll be able to spot opportunities, build relationships and turn ideas into results. You’ll be comfortable planning and delivering targeted campaigns, using insight to review performance and drive improvement, while working collaboratively with colleagues, partners and customers.

You’ll also bring:

  • An understanding of the sales and customer retention process.
  • Strong networking skills and the ability to build effective relationships and new connections.
  • Knowledge and experience of digital communications and website development.
