DBS Service boosted by WSA and CLUK partnership

DBS Service boosted by WSA and CLUK partnership

Having worked together throughout the COVID-19 pandemic to provide stability and prosperity for the sport and leisure industry, the Welsh Sports Association (WSA) and Community Leisure UK (CLUK) last summer agreed to a strategic alliance across areas of shared interest and benefit – one of those being safeguarding and a robust DBS checking service for the sector.

As part of the two organisations’ ongoing collaboration the WSA, through trading arm Vibrant Nation, has been providing CLUK members with access to the DBS checking service for sport and leisure.

The service is open to CLUK members at highly competitive rates, to ensure that sport and leisure is safe for all to enjoy.

Sport & Leisure operators can find out more about the WSA’s esteemed DBS checking service via the dedicated WSA Safeguarding and DBS page.

Dacorum Sports Trust is a CLUK member that has recently utilised the agreement to carry out its DBS checks.

Sarah Brooke, HR, Training and Payroll Manager at Dacorum, kindly outlined the impact that the WSA’s DBS service had had for her organisation.

Finding the WSA for DBS checks came at just the right time for us. Previously, we were using a larger Trust to administer our DBS checks before, but this process was so lengthy, waiting for application forms to be sent to us, posting the completed forms back to them so that they could then send these forms off for processing!

Using the WSA has completely streamlined our DBS checking process. It’s a very easy sign-up process. The portal is very user friendly from an administrator and employee point of view. As an administrator, you create the online application, and the system then automatically sends the employee an invitation to complete their online DBS application. Once the employee has completed their details online, you verify the individual’s evidence, and then simply click a button to submit the DBS check for processing. The scheme is very cost effective, the turnaround for the results is very quick and their customer service is great. Highly recommend.

Other CLUK members can visit the WSA website here to subscribe to the service.

The service is not exclusive or even limited to the sport and leisure sector, however, and still presents clients with a very competitively priced option.

Should your organisation need to carry out DBS checks, you can discover how the WSA can help by visiting our dedicated DBS webpage.
