Overview

Free online workshop for youth professionals exploring gaming, gambling, loot boxes, online trends, and practical ways to help.

Do you feel like you are constantly playing catch-up with the online world young people are growing up in?

Would you like to better understand:
• Gaming and gambling overlaps
• Loot boxes and in-game spending
• Social media influencers and online trends
• Cryptocurrency gambling and emerging digital risks
• Warning signs of harm
• How to start supportive conversations with young people
• Practical ways to encourage safer online habits

Ahead of the Game, an Ara Recovery for All project, delivers free online workshops designed to help youth professionals better understand the digital environments children and young people navigate every day.

This informative one-hour session explores how gaming, online platforms, and gambling-like features can influence young people’s wellbeing, behaviour, and decision-making.

The workshop aims to give parents greater confidence in:
• Recognising potential risks and warning signs
• Setting healthy digital boundaries
• Having open conversations without judgement
• Supporting young people to make safer choices online
• Knowing where to access further support and advice

The session is educational in nature and support signposting will be provided throughout.
