“Responsive, creative and proactive”: Weightlifting Wales and WSA Content & Comms Plus

One of the first WSA members to take up Content & Comms Plus, Weightlifting Wales utilised the service for two years.

“Over the past two years, Weightlifting Wales has benefitted greatly from the Welsh Sports Association’s Content & Comms Plus package,” Simon Roach, Weightlifting Wales’ Chief Operating Officer, told us.

“The service provided consistent, professional support across our communications, ensuring our messaging aligned with our brand values and reached a wider audience.”

Across these two years, the WSA’s Communications and Policy Officer, Max Parsons, supported the growth of the organisation’s social channels as well as supporting at two key events in the weightlifting calendar.

As part of the service, Max kept Weightlifting Wales’ audience up to date across social media throughout the National Championships in December 2023 and the Celtic Nations in November 2024, as well as producing comprehensive written reports of both events.

“Max, who managed our content scheduling and social media during this time, was a pleasure to work with,” continued Simon. “He was responsive, creative and proactive in helping us amplify our voice across platforms.”

Over this period, Weightlifting Wales’ social media channels enjoyed significant increases in its engagement and reach. For example, views increased to nearly 700k across Facebook and Instagram, while reach raised to more than 292k, content interactions to over 23k, and profile visits to nearly 50k.*

“The package had a positive impact on our social channels,” Simon confirmed, “with increased engagement, clarity in our messaging, and a more dynamic digital presence. It also allowed our team to focus on strategic priorities, knowing that scheduling and posting were in safe hands with Max.

“The support we received was excellent, professional, reliable and aligned with our goals throughout.

“The Content & Comms Plus package gave us a strong, consistent voice across social media, which helped us better connect with our audience and share our story,” he continued.

“We’ve seen real value in the WSA’s Content & Comms Plus offer; it has helped us build momentum, grow our reach, and elevate the impact of our programmes. We are very grateful for the quality of support we received and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the package to other organisations looking to strengthen their communications capacity.”
