Hannah Hopes

Board Member

Board member Hannah is the member nominated to represent the National Governing Bodies through her role as Head of HR for the Football Association of Wales. Hannah has worked at the FAW for 4 years and has seen the organisation grow from 67 staff members to over 180 through the introduction of new areas of work, strengthening the existing functions and the merger of the FAW and FAW Trust in 2022.

Hannah has a career in HR spanning 13 years, with experience working in the engineering and manufacturing sectors before moving to the FAW in 2021. She completed her HR Management masters from the University of South Wales in 2016. At the FAW Hannah is responsible for all people matters including recruitment, employee engagement, learning and development, performance management and ensuring compliance with employment law and people best practise. Hannah is part of the Senior Leadership Team at the FAW and works with her senior colleagues to define the strategic direction for football in Wales.

Football is also a big part of Hannah’s life outside of work, in her spare time she is the Chair of a grassroots football club as well as helping to coach the girls U10’s team and running the clubs Huddle sessions – for 4-11 year old girls. Hannah is also a passionate Charlton Athletic fan and tries to see them play as often as possible.
