Salary: Circa £40k per annum, Flexible working that will on occasions involve working unsociable hours and weekends
Location: Wales (with travel throughout the UK and internationally)
Squash Wales is seeking an outstanding coach and leader to drive the next generation of Welsh squash success. This is a unique opportunity to shape and deliver our National Performance Pathway, working with talented junior and senior athletes, coaches, parents and performance support staff to develop future international players and create a sustainable High-Performance culture across Wales.
About the Role
As National Performance Coach you will be responsible for the development and delivery of Squash Wales National Performance Programme, supporting athletes from emerging talent through to senior international representation.
- Lead and deliver national squad programmes.
- Coach talented junior and senior athletes.
- Support athletes at domestic and international competitions.
- Develop and implement individual athlete development plans.
- Create a positive, challenging and athlete centred performance environment.
- Work collaboratively with parents, personal coaches and performance support staff.
- Lead coach development initiatives across Wales.
- Contribute to the strategic development of Squash Wales.
About You
Essential
- UKCC Level 3 Squash Coach Qualification (or equivalent)
- Proven experience coaching talented junior performance players.
- Experience of coaching at National and/or international competitions.
- Strong understanding of long-term athlete development.
- Ability to build high performance environments and cultures.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding, athlete welfare and equality.
Desirable
- Experience leading National or Regional performance programmes.
- Coach Education and workforce development experience.
- Experience working with international athletes and teams.
- Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.
