WELSH UNIVERSITIES NATIONAL TEAMS MANAGER – Welsh Student Sport

Welsh Student Sport (WSS) is looking to appoint a National Teams Manager for their representative men’s and women’s teams. The successful applicants will take on the role for an initial two-year period.
The successful applicants will be expected to manage the Welsh University national squads and assist in the appointment of team managers and coaches in the sports identified as being part of Home nations competition. The National Teams manager will lead the delegation of athletes and coaches and act as the lead person for Welsh Universities in the preparation and during competition at the Home Nations Competition, which may be a single event at a single location, or staged throughout the academic year.
The National Teams Manager will assist with budgeting for the event and the procurement of national representative playing and leisure wear. The individual will be the main contact for coaches and managers in the build-up for the games and assist with any team related logistics.
All applicants will be expected to demonstrate the following criteria:
Essential:
Appropriate and valid Manager Experience in a sporting environment
Experience of attending as an athlete, official or coach, major sporting events
Some knowledge of the BUCS Framework and Universities in Wales
Desirable:
Knowledge of Welsh Student Sport and any previous experience of a Home Nations Event
Knowledge of the sporting infrastructure in Wales across multiple sports.
