WSA support member Welsh Petanque Association with kit ahead of Celtic Challenge tournament

The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) was delighted to support member organisation the Welsh Petanque Association with its supply of kit ahead of the Celtic Challenge 2024 that takes place over the weekend of Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 May.

Needing a new kit, the WPA found themselves short of options as a completely volunteer-led organisation.

The WSA was able to signpost towards Macron and liaise between the manufacturer and the WPA to strike up a deal, which eventually saw our member secure new kit at a good price point and of excellent quality for the players to be able to wear during the tournament.

Welsh players will now don this new kit for the first time as they host Scotland and Ireland for the 34th edition of the Celtic Challenge.

Tony Smith, WPA President, stated:

“The Welsh Petanque Association is extremely grateful to the WSA for the support provided in assisting with the liaison with Macron to obtain new playing tops for our Celtic Challenge squad.

“The players who received their new kit were all very pleased with the quality of the playing shirts and feel proud to represent Wales wearing them.”

Entering into the event, taking place in Caerleon, Wales are looking to draw level with Scotland with what would be their 14th title in the competition. Fellow guests Ireland currently sit on six Celtic Challenge titles, having won on home soil last year.

The WSA wishes the best of luck to the WPA, for what promises to be a brilliant weekend of petanque!
