Monmouth Sports Association join WSA as Associate Members

The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) is thrilled to welcome Monmouth Sports Association as an Associate Member.

The aim of Monmouth Sports Association is to promote sport in the Monmouth area and support its member clubs and other participants by maintaining the facilities and clubhouse at Monmouth Sports Ground. At the same time, they strive to increase and encourage sporting participation in the local community.

Within the facilities located on the bank of the River Monnow, Monmouth Sports Association is responsible for full-size pitches suitable for rugby and football during the winter, a cricket pitch in the summer, tennis courts and a bowls green.

As an Associate Member, they will look to benefit from opportunities available to them through the Procurement Portal as they update facilities, take advantage of our partner offers, make use of training opportunities and utilise the WSA’s advocacy work as well as the broad network that comes with membership.

Monmouth Sports Association Secretary, Delyth Harris, commented:

“The Committee is excited to become an Associate Member of the WSA and are looking forward in particular to learning how we can improve the management and governance of the Association as we grow our membership and expand our facilities.

“We believe that by learning from the best practices in other organisations and attending the training made available through the WSA, we can run the Association in a more professional way which will bring benefits to our member clubs and the broader community.”

Tom Sharp, Commercial Manager at the WSA, added:

“The team are delighted to welcome Monmouth Sports Association to the expanding WSA membership base.

“The WSA exists to provide support & Advocacy services to the sport & leisure sector in Wales, so are therefore delighted to welcome the Monmouth Sports Association into the fold, and support them as they expand their existing facility and provide wider governance guidance and networking as they move forward.”
