Inclusive Cultures across Sport & Leisure; help shape conversations and contribute to tangible progress.

The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) has been working with a range of colleagues from across the sector over the past few months (Including Sport Wales, Sport Diversity Cymru – WCVA, Disability Sport Wales, Black Swimming Association, to name but a few) to explore meaningful next steps – following a successful Inclusive Cultures networking breakfast in 2024.

The WSA team are keen to cohesively and efficiently progress EDI objectives and inclusive cultures across sport and leisure; and the team are adamant that the entire sector has a voice in shaping these conversations and contributing to tangible progress.

It has become apparent that there’s a lot of positive action taking place across the sector with regards to EDI, but feedback has suggested it’s not as joined up as it could be.

Consequently, the WSA will be commissioning a small research project, utilising Simon Richards from eCoach to deliver this on our behalf.

The brief is to ascertain who’s in the sector, what’s being delivered now, who we should be engaging with moving forward and also to understand where the gaps in support and provision are.

Our aim is to establish an inclusive collective where everyone has a voice. Together, we can thoughtfully align on data standardisation, reporting, training, and the sharing of best practices.

We hope that you agree this is a suitable and efficient use of time and resource, and following the research projects findings, we should be in a stronger position to establish suitable next steps.

We would appreciate your cooperation with our research when eCoach reaches out to you, and we thank you in advance.
