Role Details

The Coalfields Regeneration Trust (CRT) is the only community wealth building charity dedicated to the regeneration of Britain’s coalfield communities. For over 25 years, the CRT has worked with communities to deliver a breadth of projects creating opportunities for people, strengthening the role of community organisations and identifying place based solutions responsive to the challenges still experienced in former coalmining towns and villages. To support delivery, the CRT has developed an innovative community wealth-building model generating sustainable income to deliver both social and economic value. Enabled by engaging key stakeholders, partners and, most importantly the communities, activities delivered are personalised to meet the needs of the people, the organisations and the place. 

  • Job Type: Full Time Fixed Term
  • Funding: 18 months from start date

  • Delivery Area: Pan Heads of Valleys (Wales)

Role

The post is responsible for launching a new LTA Foundation funded programme, activating at least 15 park tennis courts in deprived areas to provide free, inclusive tennis for those facing participation barriers.

Programme Delivery & Coordination

  • Organise weekly sessions, events, and training.
  • Align activities with community, health, and skills priorities.
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
  • Complete admin tasks and report impact.
  • Monitor outcomes and suggest improvements.
  • Support new initiatives and expand programme reach.
  • Uphold CRT’s equity, diversity, and inclusion principles, focusing on women and girls’ participation.
  • Assist in recruiting and developing freelance coaches and volunteers.

Community Engagement & Relationships

  • Collaborate with local organisations to identify needs and foster co-delivery.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, participants, and partners.
  • Plan volunteer and student placements with higher education providers.
  • Serve as the contact point for community support.
  • Engage diverse groups to encourage participation and inclusivity.
