The WSA’s Team Manager training has received ringing endorsements from Wales’ Commonwealth Games chiefs this week.
Following the two day training course held at the National Centre, Team Wales’ Chef De Mission, Prof. Nicola Phillips said:
“Having someone a step away from the team was a very effective way of getting some of the general leadership/teamwork messages across.
I think the format will be great for the WSA programme, as well as being really useful within our team preparing for Gold Coast.”
With only 20 weeks to go until the 2018 Games in Australia, this feedback was echoed by Commonwealth Games Cymru’s CEO Chris Jenkins who said:
“On behalf of all at CGW I would like to thank you so much for all the work you have done on Team Manager 3 training over the last couple of years and for these sessions this week. It is much appreciated by all and will assist with raising team standards and experience in Gold Coast.”
The Team Manager training programme is seen as a jewel in the crown of WSA training and is one of the most popular courses on offer. The WSA Team Manager Development Pathway offers three levels of learning, and the workshops have been specifically developed to help Team Managers gain a clear understanding of the responsibilities of their role and explore the skills and resources required to fulfil it effectively.
The second workshop, Team Manager 2, looks at minimising risks and understanding key components of overnight stays and overseas trips. It also continues to encourage team managers to plan their own development.
There are two workshops coming up in the next few weeks with limited spaces available. Please book asap to ensure your space via our events page.
