BowlsWales WSA Membership Testimonial
BowlsWales General Manager, Sophie Hancocks, has revealed to the Welsh Sports Association (WSA) how the organisation’s continued membership has benefitted them.
Speaking to the WSA, Sophie said:
It’s a no brainer for us to renew our membership with WSA every year. The support and resources they provide are hugely appreciated by BowlsWales, and they’re always quick to respond and find us suitable solutions to any queries we may have!
Sophie continued to detail what specific help her organisation had been given:
When becoming members, BowlsWales were in their infancy so challenges such as compliance to the GLFW was something that WSA supported and continues to support on.
While ensuring appropriate policies and procedures are put in place, WSA are also always first to help or point us in the right direction. We’ve made great use of their policy and procedure templates to ensure good governance across the organisation.
Training for GDPR has also been incredibly useful for us as an organisation, and we are hopeful of continuing this partnership to offer specialised training to bowls clubs across Wales.
Sophie went on to reveal the biggest benefit that BowlsWales had felt:
By far the biggest support from the WSA, however, has been over the last 2 years in regard to dealing with and coping in the COVID-19 Pandemic. The continuous aid – such as the business support meetings – has been incredible; we can easily say that, without them we would not be in the position we are in terms of the return to sport.
Producing guidelines and understanding legislation and risk assessments have been incredibly useful for BowlsWales in order to support our members and bowls clubs across Wales.
When asked if she’d recommend the WSA to any prospective members, Sophie’s response was rather emphatic:
YES!
Our general experience has been exceptional – the WSA have consistently been massively helpful. No task is too small or too big for them.
For any organisation within the sport sector that are struggling or simply need additional support in order to thrive and achieve their objectives, we would definitely recommend WSA – they are fantastic!
